On Aug. 20- 21 (from dusk to dawn) will be a blue moon.  Mostly known as the second full moon in a calendar month, it turns out there are more than a few kinds of blue moons out there. The full moon of Aug. 20, 2013, will be considered a seasonal blue moon — the first in nearly three years. Normally, a season has three months, and hence three full moons, but the eccentricities of our calendar mean that once every three years, a season has an extra full moon. The last seasonal blue moon occurred on Nov. 21, 2010, and won’t happen again until May 21, 2016.

As the cool morning air came in through the screen door this morning, I heard "4.2 Nice size for a small mouth." I looked up to see two gentlemen fishermen admiring their catch. "Too bad we didn't bring a camera." "I have one," I answered from the deck and snapped this shot. Here's to the early morning fishermen! Good catch - it went back into the lake...

Family Reunion and Food

 

A Family Reunion is all about spending time together making memories!  Many of our memories were spent preparing food and serving each other.  Sometimes it's a group project and other times the spread is laid out.  Gathering around a smoking grill is a staple at the lake.  But the smores around the camp fire are always favorites!
