In the beginning:
The dream of Lake Wabaunsee began in
1928 when a group of neighbors dreamed of a fishing lake in the heart
of the Flint Hills. Persevering through many starts and stops, and
the great depression, the fishing lake became a reality. 85 years
later, Lake Wabaunsee has become a retreat for many families in
northeastern Kansas and surrounding areas. The spring fed lake
boasts of clean water, the entire water
shed is Bluestem pasture land. The central location makes it a quick
get away that feels a world apart from the hustle & bustle.
We're 40 minutes from Topeka, Manhattan & Emporia.
Welcome to Lake View Barn:
Roger & Cindy moved to Lake
Wabaunsee from Mission Creek Ranch. Their rural roots brought
the desire to build a barn. They wanted to provide guests with a
unique get-away. The lakefront patio is steps away from the water with
a view of the Flint Hills skyline. Two docks and a deck under a
magnificent oak is a great place to watch the sun rise or enjoy the
twilight, when day turns into night. Two kayaks & golf passes
are included for you.
Lake View Barn sleeps 12. The 3
bedrooms have queen beds and the sofa is a sleeper. The Bunk
House Room over the garage has 3 bunk beds for the kids slumber
parties. The small kitchen is completed with a grill on the patio. Two
full baths, a coffee bar upstairs and a loft patio add to gracious
lake living.
The Lakeview Barn is availible for your
get away or small family reunion for $300 per night.
